Editorial Consultant and Technical Writing Advisor

Technical writing doesn’t have to be boring. It shouldn’t be boring.

Different publications have different needs, different audiences, different aims. But they all need a distinctive style. They all need to communicate clearly. They all need to communicate effectively.

Throughout my career, I explored and fine-tuned my technical writing to achieve these aims in different situations.

I write in a rather irreverent manner on The Python Coding Stack, which is a publication that reflects my personality directly. This is where I explore various storytelling techniques applied to technical writing. But I express myself using a different tone and style when writing for other publications.

I’ve also gained extensive experience with editing articles, defining style guides, and setting up review processes to ensure all aspects of the article are ready for publication. I believe in editorial processes that ensure consistency and high quality while also enabling the author’s individuality to come through.

In an era when classical technical writing can be well-served by AI, it’s even more important for humans to communicate directly with other humans. Many will use AI content for basic information. But they’ll also seek human perspectives about technical topics more than before.

If you need help with setting up an editorial process, training editors and reviewers, setting up a style guide, or if you want to transform your publication’s technical writing to increase your audience’s engagement and benefit, contact me, and we can explore your publication’s needs.
